How do I install an activity (a short tutorial)

Who wasn't angry about a non-working activity in the Train-Simulator because of missing models. In the activity-editor all files will be packed but without any models. But with this hundrets of models it is easy to miss one, if you download an activity. But the handlings in the Train-Simulator with this missing files are horrible. You will get error-messages and sometimes chrashes.

This is now over. With this small utility you can check your activities before using it in MSTS. He will list all routes and all activities. With the analysis you can check every activity. And you can check all your consists for missing models.

The result is a list of all used models. And there is a check, if the model is on your computer. You can print this list and save it. This is helpful, if you wanna publish an activity and let the people know, which models you have used in there. And everybody can see that before loading it.

As another option you can copy all used models in a temporary folder. There you can pack them and send it to another user. But take care of copyrights from this models.

Now it is possible to change non-existing models against existing ones.

You can make also an automatic replacement for non-existing files. He will look on your computer, if this files are in other folders. This is extremely helpful, if you have your own folder-systematic.

If there are missing files to an existing activity (player-service, traffic-definition or consists) you will get an extra list with this files. Missing consists can be created by the program.

Everybody, who likes to play foreign activities or create some, should use this program. It can save nerves and time.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!

MSTS is more critical than I expected. If you install an activity with missing models and run MSTS, then it can happen, that MSTS destroys his train-database. Because of that, the way must be as follows:

1. Install activity

2. Run Activity-Analysis to check the activity

3. Download and install missing files or rename existing ones or replace missing models with existing ones.

4. Run Activity-Analysis to check the activity again for security

5. Run MSTS with the new activity

With this way you can save nerves and reinstallations of MSTS.

After a reinstallation of MSTS in a differnt folder, you had to edit the registry manually. This problem is fixed.

And I have fixed some new problems with ENG- and WAG-files. It is curious, which mistakes could be produced by authors of rolling stock.

Now you can sort the analysis-screen on every column.

There is a new check of all services. With this feature you can find also missing models or files in services, that are not used from activities.

A new additional detailled analysis-screen gives you more information about the activity. You can see all consists that are used from this activity and you can replace a model in only one of this files.

Now the program is able to check all static models in all activities. This feature combined with the feature "Check all consists" gives you a great tool, to correct all model-references after great folder-renamings.

In the automatic replacement you can turn of the question. Then the program checks automatically all files and replace them without any questions. You don't have to sit at the computer.

Now you can create missing consists. It is not necessary to use the activity-editor before you run the activity (except the player-service is missing).

Until the last version, the program gave you only the list of missing services and traffics. But now he will show you also the missing consists. This is very helpful, if you install a new route and the author have forgotten the consists.

If waggons have names (it is possible), than the names will be displayed.

In prints and logfiles, the foldernames are the first column (like on the screen)

I have included a warning message in the automatic replacement. This is not the solution for all problems with an activity. It will look only for existing files with the same name.

Error 9 with routes without any activities is fixed.

AUTOMATIC REPLACEMENT will check every missing model, if this is in a different folder. He will then recommend this for replacement.

It is possible, that you have corrupt consists on your computer. This files seems to work in MSTS but in the activity-editor you can't change them. Corrupt consists will be displayed in this version.

Now the program will find also flipped models.

The new button CHECK ALL CONSISTS checks all consists, if there are missing models. And will will get a list of ONLY this missing models. There you can replace them.
